The Final Fantasy 7 remake comes with a very specific way to unlock the hard mode for the campaign. If players found their initial playthrough “too easy”, this is a good alternative for a more challenging trek.
Final Fantasy 7 was originally released on January 31, 1997, for the Playstation by Square and for years gamers having been teased by rumors, speculations, and gossip that there was a remake being made. Finally, there was confirmation in 2015 that there was indeed a remake being produced with much of the original talent returning. On April 10, 2020, the first of a planned multi-chaptered series of the Playstation classic was finally released. With this current generation’s technology, Cloud Strife and company are re-introducing their adventure to a younger breed of gamers with a much more dramatic flare.
The Final Fantasy 7 remake still has the same fundamental plot of the original, with a few creative changes here and there. The story takes place in a steam-punk like city called Midgar. The main protagonist is Cloud Strife, who is a mercenary who joins up with an eco-terrorist group called AVALANCHE that’s at war with the Shira Corporation who is draining the life force of the planet for their own nefarious deeds. One major change with this remake is that the gameplay has real-time action, as opposed to it being turn-based. Like the original, players still use items, ether and materia from their inventory with an enhanced ‘Active Battle Time’ feature that enables special moves while stopping the battle.
