En seis días arrancará, con la disputa del partido inaugural que enfrentará a la selección local con la de Ecuador, el Mundial de Qatar 2022. Una Copa del Mundo que contará con hasta 84 representantes de LaLiga Santander, siendo el FC Barcelona, con 16, el equipo que más internacionales aporta, por delante de Real Madrid (13), Atlético de Madrid (11) y Sevilla (10). Girona y Elche, por su parte, son los dos únicos que no tendrán representación.
